Abdou Sene

Professor Abdou Sène is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Université Numérique Cheikh Hamidou KANE in Senegal. He has extensive expertise in mathematical modelling, numerical simulation, control theory, and the theory of partial differential equations, with a strong background in both research and teaching.

His research spans a wide array of applied fields, including solid and fluid mechanics, smart materials, epidemiology, intra-host disease modelling, population dynamics, and food technology. He is particularly focused on the development and control of mathematical models that address real-world challenges across these disciplines.

In addition to his academic work, Professor Sène has held significant leadership roles in higher education management in Senegal since 1999. He has served as Head of the Mathematics Department and Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy, Aquaculture and Food Technology at Université Gaston Berger. He was also Director of Private Higher Education within Senegal’s central administration.

At his current institution, he played a pivotal role in establishing the university’s central research unit, PIED (Pôle d'Innovation et d'Expertise pour le Développement), which he led for two years. His contributions reflect a deep commitment to advancing both scientific knowledge and institutional development in higher education.
