Emkuzheva Marita is a Candidate of Biological Sciences and a senior researcher at the Tembotov Institute of Ecology of Mountain Territories RAS. Her scientific interests include biodiversity, ecology, and ecological physiology of mammals in mountainous areas. She is the author of 55 scientific papers. Emkuzheva has conducted over 55 studies focusing on:
1) Features of adaptation of small mammals to the conditions of the Caucasus Mountains;
2) Variability of parameters of peripheral blood and hematopoiesis of mammals in seasonal, altitudinal, and latitude-longitudinal gradients;
3) Modern biodiversity of mammals of the Caucasus;
4) Monitoring the number of small mammals in the North Caucasus.
